Kansas City’s Cheap Eats: Sixty-seven places where you can get the best, tastiest, flavor-bomb, bang-for-your-buck bites
We scoured the city for our annual best cheap eats issue, from falafel dens and food trucks to authentic taquerias, Italian delis, and greasy spoons. For our 2015 cheap eats algorithm, we gave equal weight to taste and value, with the goal to keep primarily within the $10-or-less range. Note: no barbecue joints were considered for this feature because we will be comprehensively sampling KC’s best cue citywide in our annual barbecue issue in October. In the meantime, here are a few burger deals, soul food platters, banh mi, shawarma, pizza pies, “Death Wings,” bowls of pho, southern fried chicken feasts, bento boxes, Italian deli delights, beignets, sausages, empanadas, dumplings and dim sum to keep your mouth and your wallet happy.
